Funeral services are an important part of the healing process, because they declare a death has occured which allows the families some closure. Funerals also celebrate the life that has been lived
"What options do I have in services and disposition?"
Today there are two basic forms of final disposition practiced, earth burial and cremation. Services can and should vary for each person. It may reflect one's religious beliefs, or a family could display family photos, possessions, and rewards they have collected to have the emphasis of the service to be on their life.
"Can someone who decided they want to be cremated have a viewing?"
Yes, you still have all the same choices you would have with a traditional funeral. You could have a viewing with visitation, or choose to hold a memorial service after the cremation.
