Obituary

John Nicholas Patronis, Jr., 85, of Havana Florida passed on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 with his loving wife of 43 years by his side. He is survived by his wife, Anne Patronis, children Suellen Brock (Larry), Lydia Barineau (Tommy), Sabrina McMillan (Bill), Joanie Patronis (Johnny), John Patronis III (Shawn), Michael Patronis (Elena), Justin Harris,  Clinton Harris (Melissa), 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Brother in law John Egan (Carolyn), Dennis J Egan (Judy), sister in law Mary Lou Ramirez (Pete), and many beloved nieces and nephews.
John was born on March 26, 1937 in Quincy, Florida to his parents John Nicholas Patronis, Sr. and Virgil Marie Meinscher. He was predeceased in death by his parents and sisters Mary Patronis and Kathleen Davis (Charlie).
John, a third generation Greek descendant, served his country honorably in the United States Navy for four years, where he traveled overseas, earned an education and started raising a young family.  He returned to Quincy to be close to family, farming and his community. John’s passion for helping others and solving problems reflected in his work at the State of Florida (27 years), where he went from working on the first computer program in the basement to the Governor’s Office, as well as operating his own IT firm where his workmates and clients have remained lifelong friends. Family was the most important aspect of John’s life.  He spread his love graciously and was known for being kind, gentle and encouraging.  His mischievousness never evaded him from youth to adulthood and into his senior years, where he was known for his dad jokes and relentless teases. He loved to share his passion for golf and farming with his family and friends, and rarely could resist an opportunity to fish a ball from the pond! John had a deep love of music and cherished playing his guitar with others.  His and Anne’s love for adventure led them in recent years to their North Carolina home, where they would be found enjoying time with friends and family on the porch with coffee and likely praising or appraising their beloved Seminoles!  Loved by many and whatever he did, he did with his whole heart.  He will be sorely missed.
John was a very charitable man and the family would like for you to donate to your charity of choice in lieu of flowers.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 1:00pm at Faith Funeral Home in Havana, Florida. (850-539-4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com)
