James Roger Blount

Tallahassee, Florida

James “Jim” Roger  Blount of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at home in the loving company of his wife, children, grandchildren, niece, and sister in law. Jim/Roger was born on January 28, 1952 to the late Aubrey Elouise Congdon and his father James T. Blount(Indiana) . He was raised in Jacksonville, Florida by his stepfather William Congdon and the late Aubrey “Eloise” Congdon.

Jim spent his early years on his grandfather's farm in Mayo, Fl where he grew his love for the outdoors. Jim graduated from Sandlewood High School in 1952. At 23 years of age he moved to Tallahassee, Florida to start working for the state as a computer analyst. He traveled for the state for many years until he retired in 2014. He met his beloved wife Sheree Blount who he married in 1986. Together they had two children and enjoyed 35 years of marriage. After retirement he devoted his time to his wife, children, and grandchildren. Jim was a family man    and when he wasn't outdoors gardening he was spending time with his family. He was a wonderful, selfless, kind, and loving person.

James Blount is preceded in death by his parents and sister Constance Blount. Left to mourn and cherish his memories are his wife Sherree Blount; his children Sagen Blount and Cale Blount; his grandchildren Sharlise Calloway, Atticus Calloway, Kadence Posey, and Ember Blount; his stepfather William Congdon; brother Steve Congdon, sister Lynn Foy; nephews Craig Congdon and Andy Foy.

The family sends a special thank you to Faith Funeral Home and staff in Havana, Fl.  for all of their help and support during this time.

Jim didn't want a funeral but a celebration of  life/birthday that the family will be holding on Friday, January 28, 2002 from 5:30pm-9:00pm at the Ft. Braden Community Center, 16387 Blountstown Hwy, Tallahassee, Fl. 32310.
