Donald Ray Magruder

Donald R. Magruder, PhD age 92 of Havana Florida passed away on January 21, 2022 at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee Florida.. Dr. Magruder was born August 11, 1929 in Moundsville, W V. the son of the late Harry Magruder and Augusta Flo (Scott) Magruder. Sister Ada West (deceased). He graduated from Moundsville High School in 1946, completed his undergrad and graduate degrees at West Virginia University and completed his PhD at Florida State University. Started his career as a teacher at St Clairsville Ohio, a teacher and Director of Personnel at Pinellas Co Florida. He became The Executive Director of the Florida School Boards Assoc.. in Tallahasse where he served for 15 years. He concluded his career in Education as an administrator in the Division of Community Colleges, in the Florida Department of Education retiring July 1993. He is survived by his devoted wife Linda Magruder, his daughter Melissa (David) Cappi and a son Scott Magruder. Grandchildren Eliah. Emmett and Marlena Cappi, Trevor Magruder, Christy Suggs and Casey Warming, Cousin Jim Boren (who was like a brother to him) and his good friend Douglas Crawford.
