 James D. Wester, known as Jimmy, Dad, Grandpa and Jim Jim, born August 4, 1938, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at age 85.   He was born to parents Elmer Cleve and Flora Belle Wester. Jim attended Albany High School in Albany, Georgia and later attended Georgia Tech graduating from Auburn University, where he played basketball.  He received a master’s degree at George Washington University.  Jim also served in the US Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Belvoir.  Jim worked in technology for many years, eventually owning his own company (Results Inc.) and holding leadership positions in others. He leaves behind a legacy of love and integrity with his family and friends.  He is survived by his wife Medora Wester of 22 years and children, James Jr. (Martha) and Ronald C Wester (Natalie), grandchildren, Lydia, AJ, Henry and Naree. His extended family, Chet Barret (Amy) and Cindy Beale, grandchildren, Lindsey (Russell), Meredith and Madison, great grandchildren Everett, and Wrenn, his many caregivers and especially Sherry Wright and Anthony Bostic, along with many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved brother Cleve Wester, who was his hero and Greta, his faithful canine companion. To know Jim was to know joy and laughter. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent many hours involved with Boy Scouts of America where he was a scout leader supporting his sons in weekly adventures and, as a coach for Boy’s Club basketball. Jim also dabbled in horse racing and was a purveyor of land management with Results Tree Farm. He was an avid fan of the Auburn Tigers, and he loved the arts, specifically theatre and music. Jim was a member of the Washington DC Touchdown Club, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, Quail Unlimited, Havana Golf and Country Club, Stonebridge Golf and Country Club in Albany Georgia and Manor Country Club in Rockville, Maryland. Though his smile is gone forever and his hand we cannot touch, we still have so many memories of the one we loved so much. His memory is now our keepsake, with which we will never part.  God has him in his keeping and we have him in our heart. Donations in Jim’s memory can be made to Big Bend Hospice, First Presbyterian Church of Havana, Florida or the Alzheimer’s Association. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Faith Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements (850.539.4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com).

James “Jim” Dewey Warner, 88, passed away peacefully Friday, November 3, 2023, at his home.
