Timothy John Barber, 70 years old, of Havana, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at First Commerce Center for Compassionate Care (Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare). The graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Concord Cemetery, with Pastor Bill Barber officiating the service. Pallbearers include Ronal Barber, Edward Barber, Samuel Barber, Bert Johnson, Wyatt Mentry, and Ben Driggers. The family will receive friends on Monday April 22, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Faith Funeral Home.
Timmy was born on April 28, 1953, in Quincy, FL. He was a beloved husband, father,“PawPaw”, brother, uncle and friend who touched the lives of all those he came into contact with. He attended Havana High School where he played basketball and ran track for the Havana Bears. Timmy was also an active part of the Coonbottom Pilau and Coonbottom VFD Fish Fry. He also was a volunteer firefighter for many years. He retired from Borden’s Dairy and was a member of Concordia Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved his family more than life itself. He will truly be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Johnson Barber, the love of his life for 50 years. His sons, Matthew Barber (Alicia) of Crawfordville, FL and Steven Barber (Kristina) of Whigham, GA and his grandchildren Emma Barber, Wade Barber and Will Barber. He is also survived by his brothers, Ronal Barber (Diann) of Jasonville, IN; Edward Barber (Cassie) of Tallahassee, FL; Samuel Barber (Debbie) of Havana, FL; his sisters, Gail Finley of Crawfordville, FL and Lisa Weaver (Clayton) of Havana, FL; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Marvin and Annette Barber and his sister, Mary Dutton.
