Terrell Jaan Borger Pace was called home to her Lord Jesus on June 3, 2024. Born in Newton, Kansas on May 5, 1948, she was the daughter of Virgil and Nellie Mae Borger, and the sister of Terry Borger. Jaan’s physical beauty was only outshined by her soul’s beauty. She was one of the sweetest and most compassionate people one could ever meet. Always ready to help and comfort anyone, she never met a stranger. So much of her life was spent doing for others. After graduating from high school, Jaan served as a nurse’s aide at Bethel hospital in Newton, KS. Ultimately, she moved to Tallahassee, Florida where she met and married Dr. Joe Pace, who preceded her in death after many years of great love. She then found decades of joy being a stepmother to Daniel Pace, who also preceded her in death. Jaan spent much of her adult life, along with Joe, in Africa. They had many exciting and sometimes frightening adventures while there and made many friends. She was an intrepid traveler. An animal lover from childhood, she could not pass any dog, cat or four-legged creature without stopping to show them love and care. Horses became another passion, and she served as a volunteer for Red Hills Horse Trials for many years. She enjoyed all wildlife and spent countless hours feeding deer and observing nature in her back yard. A member of United Methodist Church of Newton and Thomasville Road Baptist Church in Tallahassee, she taught Sunday school and spent countless hours ministering to senior adults in need and children. The end of her life was a testimony to the mercy, grace & provision of the Lord. She was a child of God and passed peacefully while listening to Worthy is the Lamb. She is survived by her brother Terry and his wife Sandra, her niece Tara Koel and nephew Zach Borger, and her dear friend Sue Weeks.
A private memorial and celebration of life is currently being planned for a later date.
