Biography

Ted "Rudy" Rudolph Reeves, of Tallahassee, FL. passed away February 19, 2014 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday February 22 at Bible Believers Fellowship with Pastor Dennis Young officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Rudy was a lifelong resident of Tallahassee, he graduated from Leon High in 1948. Served in the Korean War, returned to Tallahassee to own and operate his father's business Reeves Welding and Machine Shop. Three generations of all types of iron & metal works, including machine shop and custom fabricating. He was always proud of the growth and development of Tallahassee. Rudy was instrumental in helping with The Korean Veteran Memorial. Rudy was also an Honorary Leon County Sherriff's Deputy for more and 40 years. Most of all, Rudy loved and adored his entire family.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years Jean S. Reeves of Tallahassee, a son Ted R Reeves, Jr. (wife Vickie) of Tallahassee; daughters Rhonda Reeves (Amanda Lyn March) of Tallahassee; Michele Murkerson of Tallahassee; Diane Cronin of Jacksonville; brother James Reeves of Quincy; and sister Tammy Roberts of Colquitt, GA. one granddaughter Jenna Roberts (husband Jamie) of Tallahassee; He is predeceased by one grandchild Zane Murkerson in 2008.
