Sherree Elaine Blount

September 4, 1959 — June 14, 2023

Tallahassee, Florida

On June 14 th , Sherree Elaine Blount stepped into God’s light to join her parents and husband in His Kingdom. She leaves behind two children, Sagen Blount and Cale Blount, and four grandchildren: Sharlise Calloway, Atticus Calloway, Kadence Posey, and Ember Blount. She also leaves behind three siblings: Rhonda Maxwell, Randy Gibbs, and Sheila Pittard, as well as a multitude of family and friends. Sherree was born on September 4 th , 1959 to Jim and Margaret Gibbs, the second of four children. She was raised around the Tallahassee area and some neighboring counties, finally settling in the city in her twenties. She met her husband James Blount in the early 1980s and they were married in 1986, having their first child Sagen the same year. She welcomed her second child Cale a few years later. Throughout her life Sherree worked as a beautician and cosmetologist, cutting hair for over 40 years before retiring just last year. Sherree was always kind, outgoing, and quick to help others. When she was needed or even just wanted, she was there to help. Life poured from her with every smile and every kind word she gave. Sherree always made a real connection with everyone she talked to and had a way of making you her best friend in that moment. She always had a story to tell, and whether real or not, you would believe her. To leave her company was like coming back from a trip, happier than you ever thought you could be before you met her. She has left the world dimmer, but Heaven brighter. She will be interred in a private ceremony for immediate family, but there will be a Celebration of Life service held at the Fort Braden Community Center at 16387 Blountstown Highway on July 14th from 4pm-9pm. Anyone and everyone who knew and loved Sherree is welcome to attend.

Faith Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements (850.539.4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com).
