Biography

Sarah Kelley Newberry, 88, of Tallahassee went to be with the Lord May 13, at the Big Bend Hospice House.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at New Salem Free Will Baptist Church in Colquitt, GA. with Dr. Charles Fulton officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends at 2:00p.m. at the church fellowship hall.

Mrs. Sarah was born April 7, 1923 in Miller County, GA, to Grover and Lizzie Kelley, she was a member of the Miller County Class of 1939. A lifelong resident of Miller County until moving to Tallahassee in 1998, to be closer to her children, she was a member of New Salem Freewill Baptist Church, Colquitt, GA, and honorary member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Tallahassee, attending The Friendship Sunday School Class.

Preceding her on this journey was her beloved husband of 57 years, Frank Newberry, who shared her passion for gardening, traveling, Lake Seminole, The Smokey Mountains, and spending time with family.
Left to carry on a remarkable legacy of generosity is daughter and son in law, Becky and Ron Tiller, grandchildren Kelley Brewer and husband Scott, Rhett Tiller and wife Heidi, and great grandchildren Sarah-Kathryn, Hannah and Amanda Brewer.Memorial gifts may be sent to: Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
