Biography

Sallie Hopkins Colvin 93, of Havana died Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at Woodmont Assisted Living in Tallahassee. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2009, at Faith Funeral Home Chapel. Her family will receive friends immediately after the service. Internment will be private at Concord Cemetery. Dr. Eric Erskine will be officiating the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd. Tallahassee, FL. 32308 or First Baptist Church of Havana, 116 East Sixth Av. Havana, FL. 32333

Mrs. Sallie was born in Decatur County, Ga. February 5, 1916. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Havana. She retired from Swisher Tobacco International in Havana.
Mrs Sallie is survived by her daughter Barbara Johnson (and husband Tommy) of Helena, Ala.; three sons: Lamar Colvin (and wife Fran) of Havana; Leroy Colvin (and wife Peggy) of Tallahassee; and Sterling Colvin (and wife Maria) of Largo, Fl. Her sister Lillian Martin, of Boston, Ga. Ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs Sallie is preceded in death by her parents T.G. and Bertha Hopkins, her husband Charlie D Colvin, a son Charlie D. Colvin, Jr., a daughter Grace Bell, a grandson David Colvin, and a granddaughter Mitzi Colvin.
