Roy Bailey

Biography

Mr. Roy Bryant Bailey of Tallahassee, Fl. (formerly of Leeds, Al.) passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013. He was 93 years old. Family will receive friends at Kilgore Funeral Home in Leeds, Al. from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., December 28, 2013. Graveside service will be held at Bold Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. immediately following visitation.

Mr. Bailey was born on February 17, 1920, in Leeds, Al. to the late Mr. And Mrs. Jasper H. Bailey. Mr. Bailey served his country during World War II in Cairo, Egypt. During that time he met and married his wife, the former Mildred Pattinson, of Erie, Pa. After the war, they moved to Erie, Pa. where Mr. Bailey was employed by General Electric. Several years later they relocated to Gallion, Al. where Mr. Bailey was a dairy and beef cattle farmer and retired from Borden's Chemical.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, and two younger brothers, J. H. Bailey and Paul Bailey, of Leeds, Al., and his oldest son Roy B. Bailey Jr. of Casa Grande, Az. Survivors include two sons, Tom Bailey (Sue) of Enterprise, Al. and Robert Bailey (Kathy) of Havana, Fl. Mr. Bailey has six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
