Richard Alan “Rick” Warren, a kind-hearted and skilled craftsman known for his many talents and his independent spirit, passed away peacefully May 15, 2026, while on vacation in New Orleans. Born on March 29, 1958, Rick lived a life rich with adventure and dedication, marked by his passion for the outdoors and his service to his country as a U.S. Navy veteran.

A graveside service in honor of Rick’s life will be held on May 23, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Shelfer Cemetery, located on Kemp Road in Havana, Florida. The service will provide an opportunity for family and friends to gather in respectful remembrance of a man who devoted his life to being his authentic self, guided by kindness, strength, and an adventurous spirit.

Rick’s love for the outdoors was profound. He embraced hiking, kayaking, camping, and nearly every form of outdoor adventure, finding joy and solace in nature’s embrace. His natural aptitude as a craftsman and his multi-talented abilities were reflections of a life spent being true to himself and committed to helping others whenever the need arose. Known for his generous spirit and willingness to assist anyone at any time, Rick touched the lives of many with his unwavering kindness.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susan C. Fischer Warren, who stood by him through every chapter of life. Rick is also remembered fondly by his siblings: Marion Harper (Chip), , Daryl Warren (Gerald), Farrell Warre (Bonnie), Jeannie Bush, Gary Warren, and Ed Warren. His extended family includes Betsy Coxen, sister-in-law, and Miller Butler, brother-in-law. Among those who held him dear are his aunts Opal Wright (David), Gloria Anderson, Janice Williamson, Charlotte White; Aunt and Uncle Patsy and Clyde Poppell, and Lois Anderson, along with many nieces and nephews who carry forward his legacy.

Rick is proceeded in death by his mother and father Curtis and Frances Warren; his mother and father-in-law, Richard and Alice Fischer, his brother-in-law Dean Coxen and his sister-in-law Mary Anne Butler.
