Biography


Allie Mae "Pat" Boney Carter, 89, longtime resident of Havana, FL, died peacefully on January 13, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Robert Norman Rimer and Ruby Pearl Watts Rimer on July 25, 1923, in Blythwood, SC. During her many years of retirement, Pat enjoyed working with her flowers in her yard, watching and feeding her birds, fishing Lake Talquin, RV trips to various camping rallies in her motor home and most of all, staying active in church as a member of Havana First Baptist Church. She held many jobs as a sales representative which provided her with an opportunity to meet and talk to people and help them in any way that she could, this was her passion.

She is survived by her husband, George Carter; two sons, Cooke Boney, Jr. of Camden, SC and Phil Boney (twin) of Havana; one daughter, Sylvia Newman (Steve) of Lake Talquin - Quincy, FL; one step-son, Tommy Carter of Baytown, TX; three grandchildren, Tamra Boney of St. Petersburg, Melissa Cook of Havana and Jason Boney of Lexington, SC; one step-granddaughter, Allana Carter of Baytown, TX; three great-grandchildren, Courtney Boney of Tallahassee, Holly Faith and Lily Grace Boney (twins) of Lexington, SC.

Pat was predeceased by her first husband and father of her children, J.C. Boney, Sr. and one son, Charles Boney (twin).
Graveside services will be held at Woodland Cemetery in Havana on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Faith Funeral Home in Havana is handling arrangements (850-539-4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com).

The family would like to thank the staff of Big Bend Hospice for the excellent and loving care and to the many friends that Pat knew throughout her years that have prayed for her and her family, visited, sent cards, provided food or called.
