Pamela Moore NeSmith, 73, of Havana, Florida, passed away peacefully after a courageous 13-year battle with cancer.
Pam was born on May 27, 1952, in Donalsonville, Georgia. The daughter of the late Leslie M. Moore and the late Paula Daniels Moore.
Pam moved to Havana as a young child and made it her lifelong home. She graduated from Havana High School and went on to become a celebrated optician. Over the course of her career, she continued to hone her craft by becoming licensed in Florida and taking courses to become nationally certified by both the Board of Opticians and the National Contact Lens Examiners. She retired from the Veterans Affairs optical department after many years of service.
While Pam was proud of her professional life, her greatest joy was her grandchildren–Lilly, Jacob, and Claire–who brought light and laughter to her days. She was always interested in sharing a phone call, and her visits were treasured. She was ever-ready with her camera to capture all the good times. Pam is survived by her daughter, Lesley NeSmith Brooks, and son-in-law, Jonathan Brooks, of Mars Hill, North Carolina; her beloved grandchildren, Lilly, Jacob, and Claire Brooks; her brother, Lex Moore, and his wife, Joyce, of Calvary, Georgia.
A funeral service to honor Pam’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Faith Funeral Home in Havana, Florida. A private interment in Piedmont Cemetery in Calvary, Georgia (www.faithfuneralhome.com or 850.539.4300)
