Nettie Hurst Thomas

Nettie Hurst Thomas, 85 of Havana, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at her home.

The graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Woodland Cemetery in Havana. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6:00 PM on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Faith Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Nettie was born in Haines City, FL on July 15, 1940 to the late Robert L. Hurst and the Late Mary (Kelly) Hurst. Mrs. Nettie graduated from Havana High School in 1959, shortly after marrying Bobby Thomas and starting a family. She also worked as floor supervisor in the electronic industry. She was a member of Havana First Baptist Church. She loved outings with her sisters, brother-in-laws and friends. Her and Mr. Bobby loved going out to breakfast everyday, seeing friends and talking. She enjoyed growing and taking care of her amaryllis, especially her red amaryllis. She is best known for loving her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was her whole world.

She is survived by her husband Bobby Thomas of 66 years. Her two children Allen Thomas and Nita Moore both of Havana. Her three sisters Shirley Alexander of Jasper, TN. Mary Vaughan of Woodville, FL. and Sheila Rayborn (husband Paul) of Havana, FL. One brother Bobbie Hurst of Osyka, MS. Three grandchildren: Clint A. Thomas and Jerry L Moore, Jr. and Celese Francis (husband Nick) of Tallahassee, FL. Great-grandchildren Courteny Boney, Mercy Thomas, Banner Francis, Maylee Moore and Jeremiah Moore. Also survived by; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Rollan Hurst, Thurman Hurst, and Robert Hurst.
