She was employed by the Leaf Theatre and American Sumatra Tobacco Co. until 1957 when she was employed by the State of Florida Insurance Department as a Data Entry Supervisor from 1957 to 1990. She retired after 33 years to be caretaker for her mother and her Aunt Minnie (Mother's Sister). She was a very generous advocate for all animals, but particularly dogs and cats with her time and financial support. There wasn't a stray cat or dog that was not adopted by Mary.
In addition to her love for animals and a natural Greek love of food, Mary had a devoted passion and love for the Opera, classical movies (particularly before 1950). She had a phenomenal ability to recall to this date of the names of stars, producers, directors, musical composers and movie premiers. Her favorite opera was Verdi La Traviata.
She was the most sweetest, loving and generous Aunt to all her nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
As Will Rogers said: "a stranger was a friend she hadn't met yet". She gave of herself willing in time of need and joy. Her most precious attribute was a big sweet smile along with a "Hey Doll".
She is survived by: Her loving brother John N.Patronis, Jr. and loving sister in law Anne Patronis of Havana.
