Biography

Marion Leroy Durden 85 of Concord passed away Wednesday, Oct 14, 2009 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. His graveside funeral service will be at 11:00am Saturday, Oct 17, 2009 at Vickers Cemetery in Concord. His family will receive friends after the service. He was born March 31,1924 in Concord, FL. Mr Durden was a U. S. Army veteran serving in WWII. Mr. Durden was a lifelong farmer, and one of the last tobacco farmers to exit the industry in our area. He was a member of Concorida Baptist Church in Concord.
He was the last of his sibling to pass away, The end of an era for the Durden Family.
He is survived by his three nephews, Bobby Ray Durden (and wife Carrie) of Concord; L. Adrian Durden (and wife Joan) of Concord; and Donnie Durden (and wife Jeanne) Royal Palms, FL. Three nieces Donna Pizzo of Rockhill CT. Rachel McPherson (and husband Jimmy) of Tallahassee and Marie Zunk of Tallahassee and 11 Great Nieces and Nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Lamar Durden; Johnny Durden; Chiffon Durden and his sister Glennie Mae Perritt.
