Lola Greene

Biography

Lola Ruth Greene, 82, of Havana passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 in Tallahassee. The service will be held Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 3:00p.m.at Faith Funeral Home Chapel in Havana, Fl. (850.539.4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com ), with interment following at Vickers Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Greene was born in Woolum, Kentucky, on February 12, 1930. She married Reid P. Greene on November 26, 1946 in Middlesboro, Kentucky.
A native of Clay County, Kentucky, she was a long time resident of southern Indiana, where she raised her children and had owned several businesses. In 1980, the Greene family moved to Coonbottom and then to Havana in 1985. She was an exceptional cook and could bake anything to perfection. Lola enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. In addition to being a wonderful homemaker, she lent her culinary talents to caterers and restaurants in the area. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Edna Brabham (Charlie) of Auburn, AL and Lisa Metcalf (Clark) of Tallahassee; two sons, Charles R. Greene (Christie) of Columbus, GA and Gerald D. Greene of Tallahassee; one brother, Robert Ruth (Lucille) of The Villages; special daughter by love, Jesica Parker of Tallahassee; five grandchildren, Mason R. Brabaham (Jenna) of Freeport, Hanna L. Hotzapfel (Derek) of Alligator Point, Joshua M. Greene (Magen) of Crawfordville, Jeremy T. Greene of Freeport and Jordan Rebecca Greene of Columbus, GA. and one great-granddaughter, Emily-Grace Elizabeth Greene of Crawfordville.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Reid P. Greene.
