Kenneth John Mello, 60, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Havana, Florida, on Monday, August 29, 2022. Ken passionately loved his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sue Ellen Mello, two sons, Kris (Heather) Pavur, and Joe (Lucy) Mello; three grandchildren: Austin, Hunter, and Hailey; and one brother, Steven (Debora) Palmer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Loma Lu Mello, his father, Joseph M. Mello, and his grandmother, Martha M. Wolf.
Family and friends are deeply saddened and shocked by Ken’s sudden death. We will miss him more than words can say.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Ken especially loved catching a bus to the beach with his friends or catching a game at the Dodger Stadium. He had endless energy and never missed an opportunity to go fishing or boating. Above all, Ken was a man of deep faith and loved being a member of Thomasville Road Baptist Church. Ken wished to spend eternity among the seas, so his ashes will be spread off Catalina Island, CA, at a future date.
We will gather to celebrate Ken’s life on September 18, 2022, at Faith Funeral Home, Havana, FL. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service. Green, Red, and Dodger Blue were some of Ken’s favorite colors. Those who wish to make a donation in Ken’s name are asked to do so with the American Heart Association at https://www.heart.org/aha/donate. Online condolences may be shared at www.faithfuneralhome.com.
Friends and family are invited to continue sharing memories of Ken at the Mello home following the service.
