Kathryn "Kat" Askew Adams, 85, of Havana Florida passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Tapestry Senior Living Facility in Tallahassee, Florida.

Kathryn was born on June 5, 1933 in Sparta Georgia, the daughter of Sidney Askew and Gladys Dunn Askew. She graduated from Sparta High School in 1951. She was married to Robert A. Adams, the love of her life for 45 years. Together they founded Specialty Chemical Company in Quincy, Florida where they continued to work together until their retirement in 2000. Kathryn’s career also included positions in the purchasing departments of Center Chemical, Atlanta Georgia and Florida State University.

A social butterfly, Kat loved gardening, southern home cooking, Seminole football, her pets and especially spending time with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" Adams, her step-son Robert Andrew Adams, sister Ruby Poole, brother Raymond Askew and two nieces Patricia Poole Harp and Clara Jean Askew (CJ) .

Kathryn is survived by her step-daughters Andrea Okkerse (husband John), Susan Shebel (husband Jon), Margaret Nour (husband George), step-son David Adams (wife Lenora), 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, six nieces and one nephew.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday November 10, 2018 in the chapel at Faith Funeral Home, 6972 Florida/Georgia Highway Havana, Florida. A reception will follow the service. Interment will be held at a later date in Sparta Georgia. In lieu of flowers, Kat requested that donations be made to the local Humane Society or Alzheimer’s Research.
