Kase Powell

December 11, 2009 — March 5, 2014

Biography

A true hero and inspiration was called home on March 5, 2014. Kase Albert Powell, born December 11, 2009 passed away after a courageous three year fight against cancer. While Kase was a somewhat quiet and introspective child, his purpose here was loud and clear. Kase's fight was well documented throughout the world through print, television and social media avenues as a result of the many people he touched during his impactful stay with us. His journey enlightened many to the magnitude of childhood cancers and empowered those all too aware of its far reaching affects. He has inspired many from all reaches of life that include the young and old, elite athletes and others fighting everyday obstacles in their lives. The little boy affectionately known as "Kaseman", with his bright blue eyes, glowing smile and easy gate would make a room light up at the mere sight of him. Kase loved playing with his twin brother Knox, being pushed in the swing, playing quietly with his favorite toys, flipping through books and watching cartoons while relaxing with family and friends. He also loved his time with teachers and classmates while attending school at Christ the King Lutheran School in Palm Coast, FL.
Kase's Krusade will continue to endure through his mother, father, and twin brother; Amy Bass Powell, Kenneth A. Powell, Jr. and Knox Anthony Powell of Palm Coast, FL; his maternal grandparents, Ed and Karen Bass of Havana, FL; his paternal grandparents Kenneth A. Powell, Sr. along with wife and daughter Dewy and Kendall respectfully of Panama City Beach, FL; paternal grandparents Joan Peacock Collier and husband Fernando Recio, of Tallahassee, FL; paternal great-grandmother Mary Pat Peacock, of Tallahassee, FL; maternal great-grandmother Dorothy Bass, of Chattahoochee, FL; Uncle Edward Neal Bass, III and cousins Kinleigh and E.N., of Tallahassee, FL; Aunt Rebecca Powell Mayhann and cousin Kelby, of Tallahassee, FL; and countless others that have been gracious in their support that we consider family.
A celebration of love and remembrance will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 2:00pm; Bradfordville First Baptist Church, 6494 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312. Kase is in the care of Faith Funeral Home (850-539-4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com)
