John Peter Corliss

John Peter Corliss, 70, of Tallahassee, Fl, passed away on October 23, 2026 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born on January 17, 1956, in Queens, New York to John and Colleta Corliss.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Paulette. He is survived by his daughter, Erin (Will), her mother, Kathy, and his four grandchildren, Ella, Adalyn, Austin, and Hailey, along with his three sisters, Colette, Joan, and Kathleen.

John grew up in Titusville, Fl, where his family settled after moving from New York with a brief stint in California. It was there that John watched the Saturn rocket launches from the Indian River and gained a love for the space program. John began his career with Publix, and spent the majority of his career as a Certified Financial Planner in Jacksonville Beach, Fl. The past several years he worked for SouthEast Personnel.

John’s favorite title was Grandpa; he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren whenever he had the chance, and loved sharing his passions with them, namely trains and sports. John was an avid FSU fan and held season tickets for both football and baseball. He attended Northwoods Church and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Tallahassee. On weekends when the weather was nice, you could find him cruising on his Can Am down backroads with his dog Aubrey.

There will be a memorial service held at Northwoods Church located at 3762 Capital Circle NW, Tallahassee, Fl 32303 on December 5, 2026 at 10 am.
