Harley Odell "H.O." Bennett, Jr. of Havana, FL passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Big Bend Hospice House.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Go2Church 2555 N. Monroe St. Tallahassee, FL. 32303 Interment will follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

H.O. was born August 22, 1929 in Union County, NC the son of the late Harley O. Bennett, Sr. and the late Annie Deese Bennett. H.O. moved to Tallahassee in 1955 beginning his long career of land development and home building. He was co-owner of Capital Home Builders and co-owner of Woodgate Development. Just some of his developments include Woodgate, Eastgate, Common Wealth and Lake Tallavana. In his life he worked for more than 69 years in the construction industry. He was a proud member of the BBWB Hunting Club. He was a member of Go2Church in Tallahassee.

His survivors include a son Houston O. Bennett (Clarisa) of Wewahitchka; Two daughter Dora Melton (Larry) of Greensboro and Margaret Kinsey (Gary) of Smithville, TX; also Annie Lamberts son John Cox. His brother Jim Bennett (Sharyn) of Havana. Two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. eighteen nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Annie Lambert, his brother Ward, Herbert, Joseph, and Jack Bennett and two sisters Clara Bennett Hagler and Elizabeth Bennett NeSmith..
