Floyd Alonzo Harvell, 81of Calvary, GA passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 at The Presbyterian Home in Quitman, GA. His funeral service will be at 2:00PM Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at Faith Funeral Home Chapel in Havana (850-539-4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com ) with the interment at Woodland Cemetery. His family will receive friend, Friday from 6 to 9:00PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Harvell was born in Gadsden County on April 18, 1928. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in WWII. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Havana. He was a long time supervisor at Shelfer Nursery and later retiring form Clinton Nursery before his illness.
He is survived by son Stephen Harvell (and wife Katie) of Valdosta, GA; three daughters Joyce Douglas of Tallahassee, FL; Cindy Vanlandingham (and husband Ricky) of Greensboro, FL; and Tammy Horne (and husband Jerry) of Tallahassee, FL. One brother Bobby Harvell (and wife Yvonne) of Valdosta, GA. One sister Milladeen Cook (and husband Hilmon) of Calvary, GA. and 5 grandchildren; Ben and Becca Vanlandingham, Ashley Hulsey (and husband Josh), and Gage and Breana Horne
He was preceded in death by his parents Greenberry Harvell, Sr. and Lois Andrews Harvell; his brother Greenberry Harvell, Jr and his grandson Jacob H. Douglas.
