Mr. Whitehurst was a US Navy veteran serving in World War II He was a family man who love his wife and family. He was a regular at the morning coffe club at Hardies near Havana. He enjoyed yard work and fishing.
Survivors include his wife Dagmar Whitehurst of Havana; two daughters Cathy Mulvaney and Judy Tagliareni both of Tallahassee; a brother Franklin Whitehurst of Panama, Florida a sister Nannette Soave of Apopka, Florida Three grandchildren Caprice Stokes of Tallahassee, Sonia Nadel of Atlanta, Georgia and Robert Russell Mulvaney of Tallahassee, and five grandchildren.
