Elsie Davis Carter

Elsie Davis Carter, our loving mother, Nana, and precious angel, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on February 25, 2026, in Tallahassee, Florida.

Elsie was a faithful servant of the Lord and a shining witness for Jesus throughout her life. She deeply loved her church family and found great joy in worship, fellowship, and spending time with fellow believers. Her sweet spirit, kind heart, and unwavering faith were a blessing to all who knew her.

Mrs. Carter was born in Havana, Florida, to the late Johnnie J. Davis and Mary Dawkins Davis. She carried her hometown roots with pride and remained devoted to her family and community throughout her life.

She is survived by her loving son, John Darley of Havana, Florida; her cherished grandchildren, Emily Whittington, Cole Darley, and Brianna Roberts; and four beloved great-grandchildren, Kamron Watkins, Sawyer Whittington, Aubreigh Roberts, and Bryleigh Roberts. She is also survived by her sister, Edna Davis Matthews and husband Bobby, along with many dear extended family members and friends who will miss her greatly and forever hold her memory in their hearts.
