Edgar James Barnett, Jr.

Edgar James Barnett passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at home after a lengthy respiratory illness.

Edgar was born January 25, 1938 in Quincy, Florida,  the only child of Edgar James and Maidee Barnett.  After graduating from Quincy High School, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps.  Upon completion of his military service, he attended and graduated from Florida State University.

In 1961, He married the love of his life, Judith Hollingsworth.
After spending many years in retail management throughout the southeast, he retired and pursued his artistic talents.  He and Judy spent many happy years following the art show circuit before moving to Lake Tallavana in 2003.

Edgar was a member and head usher at Salem United Methodist Church in Havana for over 13 years.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; brother-in-law Mike (wife Inez) Hollingsworth of Thomasville, GA;. sister-in-law Nell Hollingsworth of Havana; nephew Randy Hollingsworth (wife Susan) of Archer, FL; and nieces Debbie Ivie (husband Rusty) and Lynn Hollingsworth of Havana, FL.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 6:00 to 7:30 at Faith Funeral Home in Havana, FL.  Graveside services will be at Old Philadelphia Cemetery in Quincy, FL at 10:00am on Saturday, October 21, 2017.
