Biography

Dona Sue O'Neal, 71 of Havana, FL. passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 at her residence.

The Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday September 20, 2014 at Faith Funeral Home Chapel in Havana, with pastor Bill Bess officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at White Dog Plantation.

Dona was born May 9, 1943 in Orlando, FL to the late Donald Pounds and the late Anne Davis Pounds. Dona attended Rollins College in Winter Park, FL and then Auburn University. She graduated from Auburn in 1968 with her Bachelor Degree. She was married to John Douglas O'Neal, and later moved to this area in 1982 from Miami, FL. Dona loved being involved in her community. She served as Meals on Wheels Coordinator for many years, and was a giving and caring person. She was a proud member of The Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved genealogy, studying her deep rich history.

She is survived by her husband John Douglas O'Neal of Havana, FL; her son Michael Murray (wife Stacy) and two grandchildren Graham and Madison Murray of Atlanta;

she is also survived by her sisters and brothers Betty Segal, Sanford, FL; Jackie Calloway, Avon Park, FL; Carol Hutchinson, Avon Park, FL; William "Pep" Hutchinson, Sebring, FL; Bo Haynor, Minneola, FL; Don Pounds, Winter Haven, FL; John Pounds, Advance, NC; and Bill Pounds, Yadkinsville, NC; her four step children Rebecca, Lori, Sherilyn and Alisa all of Tacoma, WA; and numerous step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister Judy Pounds.
