David (Dave) Allen Templeton, 86, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on September 14, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Linda Templeton for over 30 wonderful years.
Born in San Diego, California, Dave proudly served his country and faithfully served his community. He is survived by his beloved wife Linda; his children Chelsea Moas (Anthony), David Templeton (Desiree), Diane Templeton (Michael); and Michael Coaker, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy.
Dave enlisted in the United States Navy in 1958 and honorably served during the Vietnam War. Rising to the rank of Command Master Chief, he worked as a Navy Corpsman, dedicating over two decades to the care and well-being of his fellow servicemen and women. After retiring from the Navy in 1984, Dave continued his life of service at the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) in the Orlando and Tallahassee areas, where he worked as an Assistant Supervisor and consultant, conducting healthcare facility inspections and investigations.
A man of deep faith, Dave was a devoted member of Thomasville Road Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Coordinator of the Upper Prayer Room Ministry. His life was a testament to quiet strength, unwavering faith, and joyful service.
When he wasn’t serving others, Dave could be found on the golf course. An avid golfer, he lived for the game, the friendships it fostered, and the memories it created. He never tired of sharing stories about his favorite courses and rounds.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Moore Templeton and Elaine Margaret Templeton; his siblings, Samuel (Bud) Templeton, William (Bill) Templeton, and Nora Lou; and his daughter, Donna Lynn Templeton.
Dave leaves behind a legacy of love, service, faith, and friendship. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The funeral service will be held Monday, September 22, 2025, at Thomasville Road Baptist Church in Tallahassee Florida. The family will receive friends from 11AM until 12 Noon in the fellowship hall followed by the funeral service in the Sanctuary. The Interment will be held at the Tallahassee National Cemetery with military honors at 2:00 PM.
Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Thomasville Road Baptist Church, Alzheimer’s Research, or Big Bend Hospice.
