C.B. was born on December 15, 1932, in Nashville, Georgia, the son of the late Roscoe & Nettie Mae Griner. He came from humble beginnings to become a successful man. In June 1950, the Korean War began. C.B. always said that Harry S. Truman sent him a letter requesting that he join the Army
He did, he served for a little over two years in Korea. If anyone knew C.B., they knew he loved to talk, so the perfect career for him was being a Barber. He cut hair in Havana, Quincy and Tallahassee for many years. As middle age approached, he decided to go into the insurance business. Being an insurance adjuster and selling insurance was right up his alley. He retired, not very long though... C.B. started a very successful lawn care business. “CB Griner Lawn Service”
C.B. is survived by his daughters, Janice Connell & Patricia “Trish” McKenzie; his brother, Ronald Griner; grandson Chris (Jodi) Connell; granddaughter Jeanie Connell; three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Brenda Griner; his brothers Jackie Griner & Clyde Griner; and his parents, Roscoe & Nettie Mae Griner.
