Havana, Florida

Cameron Edward Gourley, born July 3, 1992, passed away on March 17, 2026.

Cameron lit up every room — he was known for his easygoing spirit, quick smile, and the kind of presence that made people feel welcome and at ease. He carried a happy-go-lucky nature, paired with a genuine kindness that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He found joy in life’s simple, meaningful moments — the kind best shared with the people you love. Cameron loved playing soccer, wakesurfing in the summers, and spending time outdoors, especially bass fishing. One of his most prized possessions was his personal best — a 9 lb, 11 oz largemouth bass that he had mounted and proudly displayed in his living room for all to see. Some of his happiest days were spent with Stephanie and their yellow lab, Willow — whether going on long walks or bike rides, or enjoying easy, sun-soaked days together at the beach.

Family was at the center of Cameron’s life. Growing up, he and his brothers spent countless hours dirt bike riding together. Thanksgivings were often spent camping and riding trails at Cheaha — a tradition that became more than just a pastime, but a shared bond filled with memories that will live on for years to come. Last year, the entire family reconvened and put those same skills to the test in the mountains of Costa Rica together.

More recently, Cameron took up running and proudly completed his first half-marathon in February of this year — an accomplishment that meant a great deal to him and to those who loved him.

He is survived by his mother, Lori Hathway (Jon Hathway and stepsisters, Molly Hathway and Elise Hathway); his father, Richard Gourley (Brenda Gourley); his brothers, Travis Gourley (Desta Gourley); Evan Gourley; and Matthew Morgan; and his longtime girlfriend, Stephanie Brown, with whom he shared more than six wonderful years together.

Cameron’s life, though far too short, was filled with love, laughter, and meaningful connections. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

No public services are planned at this time. The family will gather privately at a later date to spread his ashes in places that hold their most cherished memories.
