Biography

Caleb Jerry"C.J." Whitfield, 74 of Havana, FL. passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at his residence in Havana.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Havana First Baptist Church with Dr. Eric Erskine officiating the service. The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Tallahassee Memory Garden in Tallahassee.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Faith Funeral Home (850-539-4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com)

C.J. was born December 12, 1939 in Meggs, GA. The son of the late Gus Whitfield, and the late Corene Chesser. He was a US Army veteran. A member of Havana First Baptist Church, He retired from the City of Tallahassee after 24 years of service.

Survivors include his wife and best friend of 55 years, Edith K. Whitfield; Son Tim Whitfield (and wife Cindy); Kim Conner (and husband Mike); Casey Whitfield (and wife Theresa) and Sherri Hicks. Eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; sister Inogene Martin; sister LuRue Cannon; and his brother Leonard Whitfield.
