C. R. Alexander "Pop Alexander"" 87, of Havana, died Wednesday, August 15, 2007 in Tallahassee. Funeral service will be Friday, Aug. 17 at 2:00 PM Faith Funeral Home Chapel. "Pop" was born September 8, 1917 in Savannah, GA. He was a US Army veteran, He earned his Master's Degree from FSU Then taught and coached football, baseball, and boxing in Monticello at Jefferson High. He moved to Havana in 1952 opening the Western Auto Store, Which later to become Alexander Furniture Store until the store closed in 2003 Pop was one of the founders of Havana Golf and Country Club. He was a true sportsman, avid golfer, fisherman, hunter, almost any outdoor sport.
He is survived by his two sons, Ray Alexander (wife Linda) and Gary Alexander (and wife Susie) all of Havana. Five grandchildren Chip Alexander (and wife Sandi) of Quincy, Melissa Grable (and husband Steven) of Tallahassee, Trey Alexander of Havana, Laura Brown (and husband Mark) of Panama City and Hank Alexander (and wife Terri) of Havana.
He is preceded in death by his four brother and his wife Civil Louise Alexander in 2006
