Bobby Levey Thomas

Bobby Levey Thomas, 90, of Havana, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Woodland Cemetery in Havana. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Faith Funeral Home Chapel.

Bobby was born in Whigham, Georgia, on January 7, 1936, to the late Carl Luther Thomas and the late Estell Lowe Thomas. He attended school through the eighth grade and was a hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family.

Bobby proudly served his country during the Korean War as a Private First Class in a Heavy Weapons Infantry Unit of the United States Army.

On August 17, 1959, Bobby married the love of his life, Ms. Nettie Hurst, and together they began building their family and life together.

Bobby retired from Westminster Oaks, where he worked in grounds and landscaping. He was a member of Havana First Baptist Church.

Bobby, affectionately called BT by his family and friends, enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He especially loved going to breakfast every morning with Ms. Nettie, visiting with friends, and spending time talking and sharing stories. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family and friends and was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved.

He had a special gift for bringing people together. He hosted many fish fries and pilau dinners at his home, where everyone was welcome. There was always plenty of food, fellowship, laughter, and good memories to go around. His generous spirit, warm personality, and love of family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Bobby is survived by his two children, Allen Thomas and Nita Moore, both of Havana; three grandchildren, Clint Thomas and Jerry Moore, Jr., both of Havana, and Celese Francis (Nick) of Tallahassee, Florida; and five great-grandchildren, Courtney Manley (Montana), Mercy Thomas, Banner Francis, Maylee Moore, and Jeremiah Moore, and one great-great-grandchild: Kinsley Kay Platt. He is survived by three sister-in-laws Shirley Alexander, Mary Vaugham and Sheila Rayborn (husband Paul). A brother-in-law, Bobbie Hurst. He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nettie Thomas, his parents, Carl Luther Thomas and Estell Lowe Thomas; two brothers, Monroe Thomas and Otis Thomas; and two sisters, Pauline Johnson and Iris Bell.

Bobby will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love of family, his generosity, and his ability to make everyone feel welcome. His legacy lives on through the family he loved so dearly and the many lives he touched throughout his 90 years.
