On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, Drewcilla (DeeDee) Boatright Smith, unexpectedly left us to go be with her Lord, at the age of 48. DeeDee was born on February 19, 1974, in Tallahassee, FL, to Bobby Boatright and Karen Hughes Boatright. She attended Leon County schools, graduating in 1992 from North Florida Christian Academy. In 2011, she married Trace Smith, joining their two families to create a blended family of six. Most recently she was employed by Turn About at Disc Village.
DeeDee loved crafting, creating many beautiful gifts for family and friends. She also loved gardening, as shown by her yard full of plants, many of which she gathered from many places in her daily travels. But her greatest joy was being a Nonni to her four grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her grandparents, Earl W. and Katherine Hughes; Charles Rustin and Bessie Boatright; and father-in-law Bill Smith. She is survived by her husband Trace; daughter Andrea (Hunter) Turner and children, Kaci Rae, Kaiden and Grayson, Tuscaloosa, AL; sons, Taylor and Zack Smith (Karen Moore, Fiancee; daughter Gracie Smith and son, Nash; all of Tallahassee; Mother Karen Boatright; Father Bobby (Cathy) Boatright; brother, his wife and their children; sister Kerri (Preston) Foster, and children Brayden and Linley; Step brother Kris (Catie) Goodman and children Lucy and Ryan. Also surviving are her Mother-in-law, Linda Smith; sisters-in laws Mickie Smith and Leslie Rabitaille (Robert) and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services for DeeDee will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 2351 Mahan Drive. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00. Faith Funeral Home, Havana, is assisting the family with arrangements.
